Oh no! A huge snow cone issue! We planned as a school for a field trip. Paid approx $1,500 for entrance fee with the money from parents that trust us to watch over their best interest of their children. We were told that we could pay for the snow cones at the entrance to avoid full charge. We did. After running, playing, enjoying good weather, we headed to snow cone area for our end of day treat. All 1st and kinder students waited because they had run out of ice. That's ok. We practiced patience. After a few more minutes we were informed that they only had 13 snow cone cups left on our school order. That they had given all kids with red shirts snowcones. So if our classes wanted snow cones we would have to pay. In my mind I'm thinking we have to pay AGAIN. My 1st grade class was exhausted so after a few discussions I opted to walk away and promised my students that I would provide them a treat the following school day. We did not get any reimbursement, call, nothing. I suppose they felt we were trying to take advantage of snow cones. :) This long winded message is not about snow cones. It's about poor management and strategy to ensure proper customer care as well as securing returning customers.
